Winning at Shelf: How P&G Delivers Superior Retail Execution

Superior Retail Execution and What It Means

So, how do we make shopping better? We make sure our brands are easy to spot and choose, both in stores and online. We use data and insights to design products and packages, as well as shelves and displays, that are simple to navigate. We ask ourselves: Can shoppers quickly find our brand? Is it easy for them to pick the right product? Is it obvious why our product is better? By answering these questions, we help you find what you need quickly and make it easy for you to pick the right product at a price you feel is worth it.

Here are two examples of how we do this:

Cascade Delights Shoppers at Shelf

First, let’s talk about our Cascade Automatic Dishwashing products. We recently introduced Cascade Platinum Plus as a premium offering. When placing it alongside our other products, we made sure it was easy for you to understand key benefits at each price tier so you can select the right one for your needs. This careful planning, based on what shoppers like you told us, has made Cascade Platinum Plus the #1 choice in its category, helping both us and retail partners grow.

Technology that Improves the Shopping Experience

Another example is our Programmatic Shelf technology. This special tool uses data to suggest the best way for stores to arrange their shelves, making it easier for you to find our products. For instance, in the United Arab Emirates, we combined user insights with this tool to focus on the best-selling products and redesign the hair care shelf. The retailer chose to use this information in a way that helped shoppers find what they needed more easily, which boosted sales for them and for P&G.
