How Much Do You Know About the Global Water Crisis?

To spread awareness, P&G partnered with The Guardian US to hit the streets and see how much people know.

Over 4 billion people experience water scarcity every day. That’s about half of the people on Earth.

We partnered with The Guardian US to raise awareness of the global issue, its widespread impact and the important work that P&G, Cascade and its partners are doing to restore water in water-stressed areas.

The Guardian US took to the streets to see if everyday people were aware of the water crisis and the solutions to combat it, delivering myth-busting facts and aha moments. For example, did you know that the average person uses 80-100 gallons of water in a single day?

Because many people believe the dishwasher uses more water and energy than hand-washing, Cascade launched the “Do It Every Night” campaign in 2020 to share how they can save up to 100 gallons of water per week if they forgo handwashing and run the dishwasher instead.

Our actions also go beyond product innovation. Together with additional partners, Cascade is supporting projects to restore 2.6 billion gallons of water in water-stressed areas of the U.S. These initiatives are all part of P&G’s comprehensive strategy to respond to water challenges through innovation and partnerships, reduce water in its operations and restore water in 18 water-stressed areas around the world.
