Whether searching online or shopping in stores, have you ever been curious about the route that product took to get there? Our teams think about it constantly.

We know having a product available whenever and wherever you shop matters because nothing is more frustrating than it being out of stock or unavailable when you need it.

At P&G, we have a team of over 65,000 dedicated individuals, nearly two-thirds of P&G’s total employee population, focused on ensuring our products are there when you need them. Our Product Supply team is focused on both delivering product innovations that set the bar on the highest quality and safety standards, as well as supplying them wherever you shop.

With the world moving at warp speed, it is important our supply chain capabilities are there to meet your needs. That is why we are committed to being fast, flexible and transparent — now more than ever before — to live up to the promise of providing products that make your everyday life easier. In fact, it’s so important that we’ve included it as one of our core areas within P&G’s Integrated Growth Strategy. We call it Supply 3.0.

Inside a manufacturing plant, two men wear protective eyewear and earplugs. They stand in front of a long production line of bright orange and blue containers of laundry detergent pods.

I would like to share a few examples on how Supply 3.0 is designed to work for you, our shopper:

Faster: When we connect our supply chain processes and systems with retailers’, we increase our speed-to-market. For example, we can now trace the location of our products from the moment they leave our warehouse until they are purchased by you. Why does this matter? This means we can help ensure the products you need arrive where they are supposed to — on time and without any challenges from being stuck in the supply chain!

Flexible: Our products are made up of materials that help them perform well. We’re focused on diversifying those materials, so they deliver the same superiority you know and trust, without compromise on quality. Why does this matter? It means that if we are having trouble sourcing a particular material, we can quickly find a similar substitute allowing us to continually make products and avoid being out-of-stock.

Transparent: We’ve reached a stage where cameras can capture visual data, and then advanced algorithms can analyze products for superior quality. We can now evaluate each individual item as it is being produced. Why does this matter? Gone are the days when we would manually check a case picked from the production line every half an hour. Today, we have the technology to help us guarantee superior quality in every product that is produced for you.

These are just a few examples of the many ways our dedicated and passionate team is working behind-the-scenes to get products into your hands each and every day. However, none of this can be achieved without our foundational values of quality and safety – so everything we do starts and ends with this in mind. We must never let go of building your trust, which comes through consistently delivering superior quality and value. So, the next time you order or pick-up your favorite product, we hope you’ll understand a little bit more about the journey the product has been on to get to you.
