Meeting the Moment Together: A Summer 2026 Update on P&G Disaster Relief

When disaster strikes, everyday routines can change in an instant. Access to a warm shower, clean clothes, safe drinking water, toothpaste, diapers, and period products may suddenly be out of reach. In overwhelming times, acts like washing your hair or having clean diapers for a child are more than daily routines; they become important anchors of comfort, dignity, and normalcy.

For more than a century, P&G and our partners have supported communities during times of need. Through the P&G Disaster Relief Program, we work alongside relief organizations to provide trusted everyday products, essential services, and financial support based on local needs.

In the last few months, that support has included mobile laundry services after U.S. floods, clean water and health support following earthquakes in Latin America, and resources to strengthen wildfire response in Europe.

Supporting Communities Across the U.S.

Supporting communities where we live, work, and have operations has been part of P&G’s DNA for generations. For more than 15 years, our partnership with Matthew 25: Ministries has been central to that work in the U.S., bringing the on-the-ground expertise and logistics needed to get P&G products and services directly to communities affected by disasters.

A large pile of flood-damaged debris, including drywall, insulation, cabinets, and household materials, sits outside a home along a muddy roadside.
  • In West Virginia, powerful storms brought flash flooding, mudslides, and damage to homes and infrastructure across the region. Matthew 25: Ministries deployed Tide Loads of Hope mobile laundry vehicles and shower services with P&G support, completing over 200 loads of laundry and distributing personal care kits and thousands of everyday household essentials to impacted families and first responders.
  • Following a severe tornado in Wisconsin that damaged homes and businesses, P&G and Matthew 25: Ministries provided affected communities with more than 5,600 household and personal care products, including Bounty paper towels, Charmin toilet paper, Tide Pods, and Pampers diapers, as well as over 300 product kits filled with everyday essentials to help families begin the difficult work of cleanup and recovery.
  • When wildfires tore through Washington and Oregon, volunteer fire departments, which make up most of the region's firefighting capacity, faced a familiar challenge: not a shortage of people willing to help, but a shortage of equipment to help with. P&G is supporting longtime disaster relief partner GlobalMedic’s expansion of its Fire Skid Program in the Pacific Northwest, including 16 portable firefighting systems that fit in pickup trucks and help volunteer firefighters reach areas traditional fire trucks cannot easily access.
  • In August, severe storms and rain caused significant flooding across east-central Indiana. Together with Matthew 25: Ministries, we completed over 900 loads of laundry through Tide Loads of Hope and distributed close to 300 personal care kits and almost 10,000 cleaning, health, and hygiene products from trusted P&G brands including Always, Bounty, Charmin, Crest, Dawn, Febreze, Head & Shoulders, Olay, and Pantene for families working to recover.

This summer’s domestic responses also come as P&G works with Walmart and Matthew 25: Ministries to scale our national disaster response fleet. Seven new multi-service units are being strategically staged across the country, with the expanded fleet designed to bring relief services within an eight-hour drive of 90% of the mainland U.S. when operational.

Every time we respond to a disaster, we see firsthand how critical immediate access to basic necessities can be. This expansion, made possible through our valued relationships with Walmart and Procter & Gamble, allows us to reach more communities more quickly, with the essential services they need to begin recovery. Together, we are strengthening our ability to bring hope and help when it matters most.

Responding to Earthquakes in Venezuela and Colombia

Outside the U.S., the P&G Disaster Relief Program works with experienced local and global relief organizations to determine what support can make the greatest difference in each community. Depending on the situation, that can include product donations, clean drinking water, grants to relief organizations, and employee support.

P&G has worked with several longstanding partners to support relief efforts in Venezuela following June’s devastating earthquakes, such as:

  • Dividendo Voluntario para la Comunidad, also known as United Way Venezuela, to deliver nearly 300,000 units of essential products from brands such as Always, Cebión, Gillette, Head & Shoulders, Old Spice, Oral-B, Pantene, and Secret.
  • Financial grants to Americares that helped the organization deliver critical medical aid and strengthen emergency response coordination.
  • World Vision to expand access to clean water and household water treatment.
  • Direct Relief to provide emergency health kits, first aid supplies, and other urgent assistance.
  • United Way Venezuela and Caritas to distribute P&G Purifier of Water packets through the P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program.

P&G employees also stepped up to support the response by contributing to United Way Panama through the P&G Employee Disaster Relief Matching Fund and participating in volunteer efforts across the company.

Several men and women wearing hairnets assemble bags of food and relief supplies inside a warehouse. Pallets and boxes are stacked on shelves in the background.

Following a recent earthquake in Colombia, P&G quickly partnered with NGOs on the ground, donating more than one million P&G products and water purifiers to areas facing some of the greatest challenges. We also provided grants to World Vision and Save the Children, supporting organizations already working directly in the most affected regions.

Our employees helped turn that support into action locally. Working alongside the Bogotá Food Bank, 70 P&G employees assembled 1,660 hygiene and food kits, representing more than six tons of products, for families affected by the earthquake.

Supporting Wildfire Response in Europe

Wildfires have affected communities across Spain and Portugal this year, creating challenges for local responders, individuals, and families and underscoring the importance of preparing for the next fire season.

In Spain, P&G is working with partners to help strengthen wildfire response capabilities. For example, we're coordinating with United Way to provide equipment like fire skids from our disaster relief partner GlobalMedic to Spanish Civil Protection. These efforts reflect an important part of disaster response: working with trusted partners to help communities build readiness before disaster strikes.

Whether it’s close to home or around the world, P&G is committed to serving consumers through the trusted everyday essentials they rely on, and that commitment extends to times of disaster. Working alongside experienced relief organizations, we partner to help restore a sense of comfort, routine, and normalcy, so that families and first responders can focus on recovery and the road ahead.

P&G Disaster Relief: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the P&G Disaster Relief Program?

The P&G Disaster Relief Program supports communities affected by natural disasters and other unexpected challenges around the world. The program has three primary components: providing trusted everyday products from P&G brands; offering essential services such as mobile laundry and showers in the U.S. and localized services internationally; and supporting relief organizations through grants that help them carry out critical response and recovery efforts.

What products and services does P&G provide after a disaster?

Depending on local needs, P&G and its partners may distribute cleaning, health, hygiene, and household essentials from the same brands families use every day, including Always, Bounty, Charmin, Crest, Dawn, Head & Shoulders, Old Spice, Pampers, Pantene, and Tide.

In the U.S., the P&G Disaster Relief Fleet also provides services including Tide Loads of Hope, which offers free full-service laundry, and mobile shower units with private, accessible bathrooms and personal care products.

Who does P&G partner with on disaster relief?

P&G works with local, national, and international disaster relief organizations around the world. We have a longstanding partnership with Matthew 25: Ministries, who leads much of our U.S. disaster response. P&G also partners with organizations including Americares, Direct Relief, GlobalMedic, Save the Children, and World Vision. These organizations provide the local knowledge, logistics, and operational expertise that help P&G products, services, and financial support reach communities based on needs on the ground.

How does P&G decide when and where to respond to a disaster?

P&G works with our disaster relief partners to assess factors, including the scale and severity of a disaster, needs on the ground, safety and feasibility, and the response already underway. The type of support can vary by disaster and location, with the goal of directing products, services, and funding where they can be useful to affected communities.
