New Grads Find Opportunity and Support at P&G
Caring culture, supportive colleagues help deliver superior employee experience.
“P&G’s people are amazing. It’s incredible how much they care for you and spend time to help you,” said Sara Garaboa, a Brand Manager in Shopper Marketing in Madrid who joined P&G in 2022 out of graduate school.
Many P&G early career employees agree. Forbes recently recognized P&G as one of America’s Best Employers for New Graduates for 2023.
Forbes compiled the list through a survey of 28,000 early career professionals on areas like reputation, salary and benefits, education and advancement opportunities, diversity, equity and inclusion and whether they would recommend their employer to friends and family.
P&G is committed to providing a superior employee experience for all team members, providing opportunities for them to feel inspired, continue to grow, make an impact and be valued and rewarded for their work.
Discovering the Right Fit
For Garaboa, an internship experience at P&G changed her career outlook. She never saw herself in mass market consumer goods. A biotechnologist with a master’s in management, she was on her way to a Ph.D. and a career in pharmaceuticals. At P&G, she found the culture she wanted with the flexibility to fit her growing interests.
“I really like the culture P&G has,” she said. “If I’m doing a good job and I want to continue growing, the managers are super supportive and make an effort to dedicate their time to you.”
Garaboa is grateful she was open to new possibilities. Her internship led to the brand manager role that combines her pharma knowledge with her love of business. “I’m so happy that I changed,” she said.
Valuing Creativity and Flexibility
Working in data for a consumer goods company opens a world of potential for Marina Aguilar. “At P&G, I have a huge opportunity to do new projects and be proactive and creative with the ideas I want to implement,” she said.
Aguilar started at P&G in September 2020 as a Data Analyst in Home Care in Iberia. With a master’s degree in big data and business analytics, she uses machine learning techniques and algorithms to solve business problems.
For Aguilar, data is anything but dull. She finds inspiration in the flexible work environment and culture at P&G. “We work really hard, but we also have a lot of fun,” she said. The team often plays Padel Tennis over lunch breaks or dresses up in costume for quarterly meetings.
“I’m really happy at P&G,” she said. “I plan to stay a long time.”
Celebrating Everyday Impact
As a two-time intern with P&G, Katherine Robinson joined the company full-time in early 2023 because of the connections she made and the support she received. Now a Purchases Manager in Brand Building in the U.S., Robinson continues to feel supported, even from departments outside her own. “Every question I have is answered. Even if somebody doesn’t have an answer, they’ll point you in the right direction,” she said.
Most of all, Robinson values the opportunity to make an impact. “It’s amazing how deeply impactful P&G’s products are, and it makes me feel good to be a part of an organization that is driving a daily impact in people’s lives.”
