P&G Recognizes LGBTQ+ Cultural Moments in the UK and Australia During February
P&G Australia Supports Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, while P&G UK recognizes the importance of LGBTQ+ History Month, underscoring P&G’s longstanding commitment to championing global LGBTQ+ equality.
At P&G, we believe an inclusive culture enables us to attract, develop and retain the best talent, and our diverse employee population improves the ability of our company and our brands to win with the billions of diverse consumers we serve around the world. This has enabled us to foster deeper relationships and trust among LGBTQ+ consumers and engage in a range of community initiatives that inspire meaningful support for equality.
For the fifth consecutive year, P&G supported the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, which was held from February 16 to March 3, 2024. This year, P&G employees participated the annual event, which celebrates LGBTQ+ identity, champions creative expression, challenges injustice and elevates diverse voices. Additionally, P&G brands Fairy, Gillette, Olay, Oral-B, Pantene and VÖOST partnered with Aboriginal artist Bobbi Lockyear to create limited edition, celebratory digital and in-store displays to mark the occasion. The brands donated a portion of sales to two local organizations working to support the LGBTQ+ community — Minus 18 and Rainbow Families.
While P&G participated in the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, we also recognized UK LGBTQ+ History Month — a month-long annual celebration of LGBTQ+ history and related civil rights movements — by proudly re-sharing the personal stories of P&G colleagues through their unique lived experiences. Spotlighting and elevating the voices of our GABLE UK members helps us create a culture where every employee can fully focus on their contributions to the success of our business as their authentic self.

In both regions, GABLE — P&G’s LGBTQ+ affinity group — helps inspire and support these activities. GABLE Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) played a key role in this year’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, and the group helps to actively foster community partnerships.
“We know that when employees bring their whole selves to work, their ideas can make a lasting impact on each other and drive deeper consumer connection. GABLE ANZ has created an environment where people feel empowered to be themselves, to live authentically and to create active and visible allyship. Our partnership with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is grounded within this and also creates opportunities for meaningful impact for our employees and within the community. Having the opportunity to share an experience like the Mardi Gras Parade with my colleagues, in front of millions of others tuning in, has been a privilege and a legacy I am proud of.”
In the UK, GABLE serves as an educational resource and support group for employees across the region, regularly hosting guest speakers to create a safe space for important dialogue around LGBTQ+-focused topics. GABLE UK also plays a key supporting role in helping shape P&G’s participation in Pride in London.
“I’m proud to see how far we’ve come on our collective journey. By celebrating LGBTQ+ inclusion and equality at various Pride events around the country, raising visibility of the current realities facing many LGBTQ+ people through open discussions and learning from each other's stories and personal perspectives, we continue to work toward a more inclusive organization and a world in which everyone feels free to live their lives in the way they choose.”
For the past 30 years, GABLE has been critical to our longstanding commitment of being a champion of LGBTQ+ equality. As we look to the future, we will continue to make big strides toward our ambition to create superior experiences for LGBTQ+ consumers and employees that drive growth and positively impact individuals and communities.
