From Internship to Impact: How P&G Interns Make a Difference from Day 1

At P&G, interns don’t simply shadow — they lead.

“Whether interns are working on an Olympics project or an ad that’s going to the Super Bowl or transforming a manufacturing process, it’s the kind of scope and scale that makes an impact,” said Dale Tolley, HR Director, North America Talent Acquisition.

“Good ideas don't care who thought of them. You can make an impact early and often regardless of your tenure,” said Tolley.

P&G offers internships around the world in areas like marketing, engineering, finance, IT, manufacturing, R&D, supply chain and sales. The internship program is P&G’s primary pipeline for entry-level, full-time talent. P&G prides itself on being a develop-from-within company, and its application process is competitive. The Company gets more than one million applications globally each year, and a growing number of new hires have been P&G interns.

Tolley leads the team which coordinates the internship program in North America, which hires approximately 600-800 interns for a 12-week program each summer.

Collaborating on Innovative Ideas

Whether it’s building groundbreaking databases, uncovering unmet consumer needs, creating product offerings to reach more consumers or developing new media reach strategies, interns are part of P&G’s innovation-led culture. “P&G likes to create and grow categories, not just follow market share. We’re looking for people who can build something that hasn’t been built yet or recombine ideas and do something new,” said Tolley.

Amanda Munsell worked as an intern from 2021-23 in Personal Care in Cincinnati, Ohio, and in Grooming in Boston, Massachusetts. Now an Associate Scientist in Boston, she shared her experience as part of a new product launch: “As an intern, I was trusted with the final validation testing for a new Venus razor before we confirmed to go to market. If that isn’t powerful impact, I don’t know what is.”

The Impact of Meaningful Work

Working on business-critical assignments, P&G interns get hands-on experience with a global industry leader. The Company’s strong values and commitment to social impact also mean interns can find inspiration in initiatives that align with their personal principles.

Ricci Grapilon, a former P&G intern at the GBS Manila Intelligence Hub, is now working in HR as a Business Partner in Manila, Philippines. She said, “As a P&G intern, I was empowered to lead impactful projects that resonated with my passions, inspiring me to achieve more than I ever imagined. At P&G, every experience is an opportunity to make a genuine difference — for yourself and for others.”

A Place for Professional Growth

Besides the opportunity to be considered for a full-time position, P&G interns have access to award-winning leadership programs and skill development. In 2024, Seba Fatani completed a Sales internship in Saudi Arabia. Today, she is a Sales Manager for P&G in the country. She said, "My internship at P&G was a transformative experience that pushed me to step outside my comfort zone. The challenges helped me develop valuable skills that led to my transition to a full-time role within just a few months."

Interns also benefit from working closely with senior leaders and building a strong network of peers. Once an intern himself, Tolley said, “The reason I stay here is all the smart, emotionally intelligent, skilled leaders that really know their craft. I wanted to be around people like that because I knew I would become like that if I was with them and could learn from them.”
