Building a Family: Celebrating the Beauty of Adoption

At P&G, we know that employees expanding their families — whether through surrogacy, fostering, adoption or childbirth — require support and time away from work. As we celebrate National Adoption Day, we recognize the beauty of adoption and the profound impact it has on families. We are committed to supporting our employees during this major life change.

Kristie Staley, Global Newsroom Communications Manager, has first-hand experience with adoption. She and her husband adopted their three sons, and she quickly learned how involved the process can be.

“It’s a challenging and long process, but absolutely worth it.”

“I always felt immense support and compassion from my various managers at P&G when going through the adoption process with my husband,” she said. “There were a lot of unknowns to us, but we navigated them together with both the emotional and financial support from P&G.”

As the adoption process for each of her sons was finalized, Kristie utilized P&G’s adoption leave policy to stay at home and care for her children. This leave allowed her to bond with the children new to her family.

When asked about her experience with adoption and how it has helped her grow, she said, “My life is hectic, but I absolutely love it. P&G allows me to have a strong work-life balance. I spend time with my husband and amazing boys and grow as a mom, while also working and growing as a professional.”
