P&G Earns Platinum Status on ‘Where You Work Matters’ List
Inside P&G’s develop-from-within culture, robust onboarding and early-career roles
We have long believed that fostering leadership and career growth is at the heart of building a successful Company. P&G's commitment to developing talent from Day One has earned us Platinum Employer status on the ‘Where You Work Matters’ list, which recognizes U.S. companies excelling in early career hiring, career growth, and job stability. P&G was one of just 22 companies to receive top marks in all three categories, a testament to the strength of our approach.
The Wall Street Journal took note of how we invest deeply in our people — with a develop-from-within philosophy that emphasizes multiple job assignments, coaching from experienced leaders and ongoing learning and development:
“Every year Procter & Gamble hires most of its employees right after they graduate from college. That way, the consumer-products giant can train them in its culture and processes and maintain a pipeline of internal talent. Its employees, in turn, get coaching from veteran colleagues and exposure to various jobs.”

Chief HR Office Bala Purushothaman
Chief Human Resources Officer Bala Purushothaman highlights the intentionality behind our approach: “From the start of a career, we invest in our people through strong onboarding, universal leadership skills, a develop-from-within culture and real responsibilities from Day One,” Purushothaman said. “Our employees are trusted, supported and encouraged to grow, guided by leaders who see developing others as part of their role.”
Robust Onboarding Provides Fast Start
This investment starts immediately with a robust onboarding experience that goes far beyond typical introductions. Whether they’re interns, early-career hires or experienced professionals, new team members quickly immerse in P&G’s history, brands and culture. Within the first six months, they engage in targeted learning on critical topics such as financial acumen, growth mindset, business communication, and even AI applications at P&G.
“We provide all the supporting systems to develop them, coach them and then give them different assignments,” said Annie Huang, senior vice president for Human Resources in North America. “On average, employees hold four roles in their first decade at the company.”

But it’s not just formal training. Our people managers are deeply accountable for building the next generation of leaders. Rooted in our develop-from-within culture, managers actively recruit, teach, sponsor and mentor talent — amplifying the learning curve for junior employees. This culture of mentorship, combined with broad responsibilities from Day One, ensures that early-career talent doesn’t just “fit in,” but makes meaningful contributions and grows quickly.

Diverse Experiences Across Brands, Geographies
At P&G, careers are journeys of continuous learning, built on diverse experiences across brands, businesses and geographies. This sets a foundation for leadership roles in the future.
Our Platinum Employer status on the Where You Work Matters list reflects our deeply held conviction: when you invest authentically in your people, you build a company that’s more resilient, innovative and successful. We’re proud to continue building careers better than almost anywhere else — empowering employees from Day One to lead, grow and thrive.
