P&G India Launches “Lead With Care” Program

Game changer. Helping hand. Positive intervention. A relief for working parents of children with disabilities.

That’s how P&Gers describe “Lead With Care,” a new caregiving support program for employees with children who have disabilities and special needs.

A woman with dark hair holds up her young son with short, curly dark hair. "Lead With Care" is written in white text in the upper left corner. The round blue P&G logo sits in the bottom right corner, next to a round pink circle with "+me" in white text.

Through the program, P&G India employees can access early preventive care and treatment for children impacted by neurodevelopmental, cognitive, behavioral or physical impairments.

“As a parent of a child with special needs, I understand the challenges that families like mine face,” one employee shared. “The launch of this program gives us hope and reassurance that we are not alone in our struggles. P&G’s effort to provide additional support and assistance to children with special needs is truly commendable. The policy’s provision will have a positive impact on the lives of many families, who have been struggling to provide for their children’s unique needs. It is heart-warming to see that P&G recognizes the importance of creating a more inclusive and supportive society that values and celebrates diversity.”

The program includes:

  • Medical Coverage for treatments, including diagnosis, consultations, cost of specialized devices and medicines for eligible dependent children. Employees can access early-stage interventions — such as medical devices, cognitive therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy, including neuro rehabilitation and prostheses/orthoses — that significantly impact the quality of life and development of their children.
  • Specialized Day Care Support via certified partners, helping working parents ensure quality care and a specialized teaching environment to aid in intervention and recovery.
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for specialized counselling and assistance.

“It is heartening to see that P&G is committed to creating a more inclusive and supportive society for children with special needs,” said one employee.

P&G India employees who have utilized the Lead With Care program shared how the program is helping their families.

“With improved access to specialists, therapists and counselors, this policy provides tailored guidance for the child's development, making a positive impact on parents seeking support. It comes as a helping hand for sure.”

“This program helps reduce financial stress, and I can provide the best treatment for my daughter. I appreciate the company for thinking and understanding employees and their families.”

“The introduction of the ‘Lead With Care’ policy has been relief for working parents. P&G’s decision to prioritize the needs of employees with children which has made a significant positive impact on our lives.”

“P&G is definitely a game changer when it comes to going that extra mile for their employees.”

Keeping People at The Core and Driven by an Inclusive Mindset

Gautam Kamath, Chief Financial Officer, P&G India, said that in his more than 16 years at P&G, he has seen the company continuously expand the reach of its policies and interventions — keeping people at the core and driven by an inclusive mindset.

“For those caring for children with disabilities and special needs, the parenting journey can be challenging to say the least,” he said. “By being with our people in this journey and providing holistic medical and care support, we're walking the talk and truly caring for our employees and families.”

We Continue to “Lead With Care”

Patnam M. Srinivas, Vice President, Human Resources, P&G India, said, “We have taken deliberate efforts to prioritize the health and wellbeing of our employees, which is yielding visible results. This is in line with our philosophy that prevention is better than cure. We believe that only when our people and their families are truly happy and healthy at their core, they will be able to bring their full selves to work. With this, and several other initiatives, we continue to lead with care.”
