As part of our disaster relief efforts, we are sending products to help those impacted by the devastation caused by the wildfires that have been ranging across California and the Pacific Coast. In partnership with Matthew 25: Ministries, we’ve sent seven truckloads of P&G products totaling 161,000 pounds to California so far. These shipments include brands from Always, Bounty, Dawn, Downy, Gain, Gillette, Old Spice, Pampers, Pantene, Safeguard, Secret, Spic ‘n Span and Tide. Additional shipments to Oregon, Washington and California are planned in the coming weeks.
In addition, the P&G Disaster Relief fund has provided a grant of $150,000 to our partner Direct Relief, a California-based disaster relief and medical assistance organization that has been responding to wildfires throughout the U.S. for decades. Direct Relief is providing assistance and shipping wildfire kits as well as additional N95 masks and other personal protective equipment, pharmaceuticals, first aid supplies and diagnostic equipment to medical facilities, public health agencies and evacuation centers to help those impacted by the fires across multiple states.
To date, more than three million acres have burned in California and one million acres in Oregon. Hundreds of homes have been destroyed and thousands of people have been forced to evacuate. We will continue to monitor the situation to see how we can help bring a sense of normalcy in these times of need.
