P&G India donates sanitary pads and grocery kits in response to COVID-19

India pad donation

P&G India launched its COVID-19 response and relief program ‘P&G Suraksha India’ to support consumers and communities in need during these tough times. Suraksha is the Hindi word for “protecting.”

These efforts are reaching many throughout India and include:

Partnering with the government and relief organizations to donate more than a million sanitary pads to support the menstrual health and hygiene needs of girls and women from migrant communities, shelter homes and underserved communities and distributing thousands of grocery kits to those in need in migrant communities.

Raising awareness about safety and how precautions can play a major role in preventing the spread of COVID-19 by leveraging our in-store counselors and direct-to-consumer capabilities to connect with communities to raise awareness about hygienic practices like washing hands and social distancing. Our brands are also leveraging their voice on social media to raise awareness about the safety precautions required to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Donating tens of thousands of survival kits to the elderly (which was made possible through Vicks and our partnership with Help Age India) and Tide to support the cleaning needs healthcare workers nationwide who are selflessly fighting on the frontlines of this pandemic.

Helping create a safe shopping environment for consumers and staff across high-frequency store outlets and supermarkets in India. In partnership with the government and industry, we created a comprehensive in-store safety and hygiene module which is now being applied across thousands of stores in India. We are also sharing best practices with other manufacturing plants and partners to help raise the safety and hygiene standards across our end-to-end supply chain.

In addition, P&G’s India’s plant personnel are collaborating with local authorities to support the neighboring communities through the donation of health and hygiene products and sanitizers to healthcare workers and police officers and dry ration kits to migrant families and communities in need.
