Creating a Workplace Culture Where Everyone Belongs
At P&G, our culture of belonging creates community, connection and a workplace where life-long friendships develop, diverse talents are nurtured, and employees are encouraged to bring their unique selves to work every day. When we do this, careers thrive and our business grows, because as our Chief Equality and Inclusion Officer Shelly McNamara, explains, “Our shared and unique experiences are our core strength.”
Inclusive innovation, diverse creativity and courageous leadership enables us to reach, represent and design for the communities we serve.
Inclusive innovation that enables us to develop products and packaging for all the individuals we see and serve like the Ariel SECURECLIC® which is both certified child-safe and designed to be inclusive and intuitive to use for all adults and OLAY’s Easy Open Lid which has a winged cap raised grip lid. These innovations were inspired by employees like Thibault Trancart, Brand Manager for P&G Beauty in Europe, whose experiences as a blind person inform his role and understanding of how our products can become increasingly more accessible, and Black innovators like Dr. Atiya Jordan-Brown, a P&G Senior Hair Care Scientist working in Scientific Communications, who collaborates with dermatologists, marketing leaders and P&G Beauty Scientists to research the latest hair technologies and help individuals understand how these game-changers work to meet diverse hair care needs.
Diverse creativity that breaks bias and reaches all our vast, multifaceted audiences with images and stories that best represent them. Through initiatives like Widen The Screen’s signature program the Queen Collective, created in partnership with Queen Latifah, Flavor Unit Entertainment and Tribeca Studios, we are amplifying the joy, beauty and vastness of Black life by investing in Black directors, Black storytellers and Black owned and operated media. This also includes sharing stories to drive visibility and support of LGBTQ+ employees and communities around the world to ensure they are seen and heard through programs like Can’t Cancel Pride and Sydney WorldPride.
Courageous and inclusive leadership that moves communities and businesses forward. We work with partners like Vital Voices to invest in young women leaders who are taking on the world’s greatest challenges. Vital Voices’ leadership development programs help young women take their leadership to the next level and drive transformation in our communities. Collaborating with The Valuable 500 and the new Generation Valuable program, we are providing leaders with disabilities with the opportunity to receive training from inclusion and leadership development experts as well as mentorship.
